FAREWELL SPIT Can offer some amazing fishing with the surf caster. You will want to make sure you fish this places in a south east or light to nil winds as the wild west coast can produce big surf and rips make sue you fish this place with friends. Target snapper here with good tackle and good baits. It will take you 30-45mins walk to get to the west side of the spit and you are only allowed to go so far by foot. There are other areas in the bay to fish so drop in and we can help withsome great fishing sits to target snapper over the summer months Oct-March
Wharariki Beach. Take a walk across a farm track to access this great beach with breath taking views. walk to the south end of the beach to the rocks and try some land base snapper and king fish (yellow tail) fishing. keep and eye on the sea as this can get big fast. If the wind gets up you will take a bit of a battering from the wind & sand as you will see when you look at the trees. Take heaps of burly and make sure you have good baits. Try a live bait here you might just strike it lucky.
